Job Summary
Reporting to the Service Director, the Service Advisor is responsible for welcoming customers, gathering the necessary information to identify their vehicle maintenance and repair needs, selling maintenance services, and coordinating the work schedule while ensuring a high level of customer service.
Main Responsibilities
- Greet customers and gather information about their vehicle
- Update customer contact information
- Conduct road tests with customers if necessary
- Verify warranty coverage before repairs
- Inspect the vehicle and recommend repairs
- Advise customers on maintenance and inform them of promotions
- Record issues and prepare detailed estimates
- Explain the required work and associated costs
- Set and confirm service timelines
- Obtain customer signatures on repair orders
- Respond to technical and pricing inquiries
- Organize transportation for customers when needed
- Inform the workshop of the work to be done and monitor progress
- Communicate any changes in estimates or timelines to customers
- Obtain approval for additional work
- Notify customers when their vehicle is ready
- Ensure vehicles are parked safely and keys are secured
- Close repair orders once work is completed
- Handle appointment and ongoing service requests
- Sell maintenance services and ensure documentation is up to date
- Communicate with customers waiting for special parts
- Participate in quality control and handle customer complaints
- Stay informed about industry trends and new products
- Perform any other related tasks as required by the supervisor
Requirements
- High school diploma (DES) and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience OR
Technical Advisor certification and a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience OR
Vocational Diploma (DEP) in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair and a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience - Bilingual (French/English)
- Knowledge of automotive software and systems
- Valid driver’s license
